Celebrate Heritage Day in Homestead Park

Our annual Heritage Day Festival on Monday 24th September is fast approaching. This year we want to make it bigger, better, more fun, and a really memorable day for the neighbourhood, especially the kids.

We are grateful to Remax for their sponsorship of the entertainment – Petting Zoo, Magician, Andrew Ford Jazz Quartet, Historical Walks, Snake Lady, Bird Man, and more.

However, to make it ever more successful - we need your help.

Here is our laundry list:

Lemons – Do you have a lemon tree? - we need lemons to make yummy home-made lemonade to sell on the day.
Soda Water to mix with the lemonade syrup.
Boerewors – Do you know of a supplier that may be willing to donate good quality boerewors that we can braai and sell? We need 20kg.
500 Rolls – soft hot dog rolls – for boerewors rolls. Perhaps you know a baker?
Onions for boerewors rolls. 5kg.
Tomatoes for homemade gravy – 15kg.
Paper cups for lemonade – 500 cups.
Raffle prizes – good wine, restaurant meals, gift vouchers to B&B’s, cakes, cookies, anything desirable.

We would really like the event to be a true celebration of community and would appreciate it if you could find the time to help in any way - please email info@ohwatch.co.za

Don’t forget that we are also hoping for more stalls than ever before. We already have bookings from our loyal participants. The fee is R200 for a trestle table. If you know of any wonderful suppliers of food and refreshments, please let us know and we will make contact with them.

I would be interested in booking a stall.
I do Sand art with the children. I used to do it a few years ago when they were running the monthly markets in the park. It was always a great hit with the children.
