Radio Again Proves its Worth

Hullo again Everyone

Hope you happy that Spring is on its way. I see buds everyone and new growth and its makes me feel good.

Received a great email last week from Peter Nel who lives in the newly built Orangerie complex next to the Labia Cinema.

He wanted to inform OH Watch about two incidents in the past two weeks where the vigilence of The Orangerie security guards Armageddon Security), led to the arrest of two suspects.  In both incidents, due to their strategic position in Orange Street, and using the OH Watch radio (Union 4), the security were able to to call for assistance:

1.  30 July 2010, 14:15 - S/m Kleims informed Charlie Bravo 0 (CBAR) of a robbery in Orange Street and the suspects were caught by civilians at the traffic light and arrested.

2.  12 August 2010, 17:15 - S/m Kleims contacted Charlie Bravo for assistance to CCID security in chasing a boy down Orange Street in the direction of Long Street. Suspect was caught in Long Street and taken to the police station and goods were retrieved.

Furthermore, Pieter stated that they seem to have regular, major vehicle accidents on that corner in front of their gate, almost always on a Friday or Saturday night, and always involving high speed driving, leading to serious accidents.  The guards are able to call for assistance using the OH Watch radio when this happens.  Pieter counted 7 of these accidents in recent months - all serious, and many due to drunken driving.

This is excellent news and testimony to the fact that Charlie Bravo 0 (CBAR) and SAPS are trusted and dedicated partners to OH Watch.

OH Watch congratulate Armageddon Security, on our behalf.  We have nothing but compliments for the caliber of individuals that they employ, something that I noticed when two of their guards attended OH Watch patrol training with Jonny Levin. We often hear Union 4 often on the radio, reporting incidents and being proactive.  This is what we envisaged when we started the neighbourhood watch, being the eyes and ears, so as to enhance the safety of our good residents.

Viva Union 4, Viva.
