REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE

There are so many good reasons why you should recycle; but here are 5:

  1. Recycling conserves our valuable natural resources.
  2. Recycling saves energy.
  3. Recycling saves clean air and clean water.
  4. Recycling saves landfill space which is so limited in CT.
  5. Recycling saves money and creates jobs.

We would like to ask you to join our Community Recycling Project.

There are currently 3 groups that are active in our area:

Mr Recycle

They collect on a weekly basis (Thurs evening from 19h00). Place your securely tied bags, flattened cardboard (taped or tied into a bundle) outside or in a pre-arranged area by 19h00 and they will be along as soon as possible thereafter.
Various subscriptions as follows:

*Participation rates: bags collected weekly / out by 7pm
No restriction on the number of bags/bundles selected, as you will be charged R10 per extra bag or bundle removed. Subject to annual increase of 10% per participation rate.

Rates applicable to new clients only

Pensioners, dynamic households; students & small offices:

1 bag/week @ R65 a month; R340 for 6 months or R650 for 12 months

2 bags @ R95 a month; R520 for 6 months or R1020 for 12 months

3 bags @ R100 a month; R550 for 6 months or R1 080 for 12 months

Average household: up to 4 bags a week (incl the cardboard)

4 bags @ R135 a month; R760 for 6 months or R1 500 for 12 months

•Security villages, high rise buildings & office blocks:

R50 per rent/levy payer per month; R275 over 6 months or R500 for 12 months.

1 bag and 1 bundle of flattened cardboard per participant per week. Conditions apply to qualify for this special discount.

Abundance Recycling

Cost: R70 per month for one bag per week
Procedure: Similar to that of Mr Recycle, except they collect on a Saturday morning at about 08h30.

Recycle First
Contact: Anthea on 083 354 6914 - they collect every Tuesday in this area.

All of the above small companies are committed to ensuring the ongoing viability of recycling in our area but are totally reliant on sufficient support from the community. It is critical that they continue this service. OH Watch really wants our neighbourhood to show the way. Please recycle and encourage your neighbours to do the same. Our neighbourhood is in your hands.

Koolwaste
barry@koolwaste.co.za collects from our area on Wednesdays, specifically, not on the day when the municipal garbage collection is done. R85.00 for 4 collections per/month. (R10 increase per year) One – two bags at a time.
