Incident Description.
“I was away for the night of 27 December, flat was empty, it seems the criminals knew this. They entered by forcing the sliding windows on ground floor flat, then breaking security gate and carving out small window on main door (child must have been passed through the empty space and then opened flat from the inside). They also clearly had a vehicle based on items stolen - 2 x Mountain bikes, 2 x Weber braais, 2 x DVD players, projector, laptop computer, digital camera, clothes etc.
A neighbour spotted the suspects exiting the apartment with a bike and backpack at 6:20 am, and reported incident to police via the phone, but they only arrived at 7am. He also logged onto the OH two-way radio and called for ADT, CBAR and SAPS, as the robbery was in progress, but no-one responded.
The neighbour reported 2 x black men (average size and well dressed) exiting the apartment.
Police arrived at 7am, and took a full statement, detectives also came round as did fingerprint people.”
